This song reminds me of my Dad. We used to watch All in the family together. RIP Dad wherever you are.

Carroll O'Connor wrote lyrics to this song. They start with, "Got a feeling it's all over now." He sang it on a 1971 episode of "The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour".

I am absolutely OBSESSED!! Having recently discovered that All in the Family streams on Prime, and also having deep seated and quite lovely memories of watching the show as a child with my parents, the ending credit music really stuck out, as did O’Conner’s lovely vibrato. A search for his singing led me to the live tv performance of this song with lyrics, and soooooo much melancholic wonder. Now I’m absolutely obsessed with this music and would love to delve into other music that comes from a similar place. Is this blues? Where can I find more???

I have mixed feelings about the show "All in the Family." (In retrospect, it appears to have been overrated. VASTLY overrated.) Roger Kellaway's "outro" theme may have been the best part of the program. It's a shame the show could not presented the song in its entirety.

I watched some of the show in its original run when I was a kid (I doubt my folks were thrilled but maybe they didn't know how mature the writing was). At the time I knew this sitcom was special, this was quality. Looking back, each episode felt like a live play.

Not only did we get an outstanding half hour's worth of comedy, but then we were able to listen to a piece of music that is this good. This tune still kind of makes me wistful because I wanted more of those characters, more than a half hour ... and this melody marked the end of the fun (until next time). Such a wonderful song.
It's all over now, and tomorrow I can start remembering you.
