Review by Felipe Ferreira de Castro

Desmond Blue is an album by the renowned jazz saxophonist Paul Desmond, released in 1962. The album features Desmond's soulful and melodic alto saxophone playing backed by a stellar rhythm section including guitarist Jim Hall, drummer Connie Kay, and bassist Eugene Wright.

Desmond Blue showcases Desmond's unique style of playing that is characterized by his light and airy tone, sophisticated phrasing, and subtle use of vibrato. The album includes a mix of classic standards and original compositions, all arranged and performed with a refined and understated elegance.

The standout tracks on the album include the hauntingly beautiful "My Funny Valentine," the groovy "Desmond Blue," the upbeat "Then I'll Be Tired of You," and the Latin-tinged "Like Someone in Love." Desmond's playing is perfectly complemented by Hall's tasteful guitar work, Kay's understated drumming, and Wright's solid bass lines.

Desmond blue is five stars any way this listener slices it: enjoyment, feeling, beauty, imagination, freshness, etc. Pick up this classic if you want your music to hit you right where it hurts best - in the heart.

Pure genius. If more young black people listen to jazz , instead of that garbage rape. Just maybe there wouldn't be so much black on black murders.
