Review by Aulia Ayu Riandini Bulkia

Stop The Dominoes, the album by Mark Heard, is a musical masterpiece that showcases the artist's unique musical style and powerful lyrics. Heard's ability to blend elements of folk, rock, and gospel music creates a sound that is both familiar and fresh. The album's title track, "Stop The Dominoes," is a hauntingly beautiful song that speaks to the fragility of life and the importance of standing up against injustice. Other standout tracks include "Lonely Moon," a melancholy ballad that showcases Heard's emotive vocals, and "All The Sleepless Dreamers," a rollicking rock song that is sure to get listeners moving. Throughout the album, Heard's lyrics are thought-provoking and poetic, tackling themes of love, loss, and the human condition. Stop The Dominoes is a must-listen for fans of intelligent, heartfelt music.

In 1982, Mark Heard released his best album "Victims of the Age". This one, "Stop the Dominoes", was released in 1981 - only a year before his masterpiece. Still, it is one of the worst albums I own. I should be glad that it happened this way .- that the bad album got a very good follow-up album, and not the opposite. "Stop the Dominoes" is still a bad album. It has a couple of nice songs musically - the closing song "To See Your Face", "One Night Stand", "You Could Lie to Me". Also the song "One of the Dominoes" has feeling and interesting lyrics although the melody is not special. The rest of the songs are just forgettable. The titles "I'm Crying Again", "Stuck in the Middle", "I'm in Chains", "Lonely One" and so on speak for themselves - the lyrics are about misery and loneliness and hoe this are so bad in life.
