no matter what people say is not nothing like some down old blues yes sir
This song was recorded during Elmore James' final recording sessions in February of 1963, a few months before his death. Herb Abramson, one of the co-founders of Atlantic Records, did the recording work of James' songs at his then state-of-the art studio in midtown Manhattan. Abramson would do some early recording work with Jimi Hendrix just one year later. You connect the dots.
look how well-dressed those guys are, who are playing with him. Respect, man
Very interesting!
Now this is music. I’m 20 y/o and I LOVE this stuff! I’m also a huge fan of a lot of the British and American groups from the 60s and 70s that guys like Elmore James influenced/inspired! I’m currently really into the Peter Green era (the original lineup + Danny Kirwan) of Fleetwood Mac. Great stuff!
