About Black Oak
Black Oak Arkansas is an American Southern rock band named after the band's hometown of Black Oak, Arkansas. The band reached the height of its fame in the 1970s with ten charting albums released in that decade. Their style is punctuated by multiple guitar players and the raspy voice and on-stage antics of vocalist Jim "Dandy" Mangrum.
Following continued diminishing record sales, Jim "Dandy" Mangrum dropped "Arkansas" from the group's name (in an attempt to downplay their Southern-ness).
As "Black Oak" released two albums on Capricorn Records, 'Race with the Devil' in 1977 and 'I'd Rather Be Sailing' in 1978.

Comments
This may not be classic BOA, but I love this tune!
Beautiful song.
not that good
LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!
I have always enjoyed this song! EXCELLENT HARMONY!
This is not one of Black Oak Arkansas' more popular albums, but there are some really good songs on this one and I wish it was available on CD. Thanks for posting such a good quality recording.
I always thought this was a good allbum, but I am a dedicated fan.
Damn Good Album
what happened to jim dandy, this is not hot & nasty, this is lame & cheesey
Another lost gem from a lost album. Good music, but not what BOA fans expected.
Here are the Black Oak, not the Black Oak Arkansas .
I think it's good to see a good collection of all the Black Oak Arkansas albums. So much great Musical history
