The pianist and bandleader's arrangements of classic tunes like "In the Mood" and "Chattanooga Choo Choo" are energetic and infectious, capturing the spirit of the swing era with their driving rhythms and catchy melodies. Little's piano playing is exceptional, and his bandmates provide excellent support, with tight horn and rhythm sections that really swing. The album also features some lesser-known gems like "The Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B" and "The Mole in the Hole," which are equally enjoyable. "Tiny Littles Forties" is a must-have for fans of swing music and anyone who appreciates great piano playing and lively arrangements.
